So I noticed there was this category for fashion designs... so here is a dress I made probably 7 years ago. Man, I miss sewing. I designed the pattern for the dress from scratch as well. The electrical engineering department at my undergrad university (where I majored in computer science) donated the dead microchips, and I got the resistors at Radio Shack. Have only worn it once (on Halloween).

Note that the cool-looking mesh thingy is the dress form and not part of the dress.

I'm currently procrastinating my comics drawing homework.

damn, YOU did that? It looks so cool! And If you fit into that, then I donīt only envy your skills, maīm. what a crazy idea~
:iconlupidog:
This is incredible! I am sending the link to my seamstress buddy, I know she'll be really impressed. =)
:iconfunnylove:
i LOVE this!!! :D

Do you have any photos of the back, too? I love how the lining is so pretty, too, and matches the gold on the outside.
:iconkidoho:
oh Em!

Wow. You should totally wear that to class. That's really hot!

But, I hear yas with the procrastinatin'. Guh, I'm soooo burnt out....
:iconemstone:
Thanks! The dress form is bustier than I am, I'll admit that :) :)
:iconemstone:
Thanks a lot for the fave! :) It was fun to make. Final project for a flat-pattern design class.
:iconemstone:
Thank you for the favorites! I only have a crappy b/w photo of the back... I should take a new one. I actually dyed the lining myself -- it's a very lightweight silk and was a pain in the butt to sew! :)
:iconemstone:
I know... so tired... it's discouraging 'cause I don't know how I will ever be fast enough to work in the industry!

But anyways, thanks, and yarrr, I should wear this to critique day and maybe John would be, like, really nice to me or something (HAH!). Or I will get a date. Except there seem to be no men to date in our department, so never mind *sigh*
:iconkidoho:
What!? No men? We've got a dept chuck full of 'em! Now, if it's available quality men, that's a slightly different story....

But, I feel your blight of slowlessness. I too share equal concerns. I got a little bummed out earlier this weekend, but we'll what tomorrow will bring. How are you graded exactly in that class? Do you have to do the pages too for a grade, or what about the assisting John part?
:iconemstone:
I won't get a grade at all; I'm just fulfilling my internship requirement with that class. But the pages will complete the visual component of my thesis.

I'm pretty much down to the last page at the moment... it's lightly sketched and I just have to tighten it up. But that rate of producing one page per day seems soooo far beyond me. How finished are you?

I'm-a gonna go to bed now... whee.. and yeah, it's the "quality and available" criteria that sorta kill it for the sequential dept. males!
