Goodbye to fans

1 min read
To my Hack/Slash fans out there,

Issue 22 was my last issue.  I'm so sad to leave -- you guys have made life worth living for the past 2 1/2 years.  For a few different reasons, it was time for me to move on to the next thing; as Calvin once told Hobbes, "I must follow the inscrutable exhortations of my soul." :)

I hear that the super-talented (and true horror fan) Bryan Baugh is doing some issues now:
:iconbryanbaugh:

And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the movie to finally be made.

For those of you who don't banish me from your watch lists for mostly drawing flowers and whatnot these days, I promise to try to throw something gross in there from time to time!

Em

Many apologies for this shameless begging (especially if you are seeing this in multiple places – facebook, your email inbox, etc.), but please vote for my t-shirt design on threadless.com! Voting will be open for 7 days. You can score it from 0-5 (5 being best) and put check marks in the "I'd buy it" boxes if you like my design.

(If you are not registered with Threadless, you will have to sign up in order to vote, but that only takes a moment; so if you can spare the time, I would really, really, REALLY appreciate it.)

The link is thus: www.threadless.com/submission/…

Muchas gracias for the support!

Hack/Slash fans!  We have been nominated for a Spike TV Scream award, and I wish to coerce you to vote!

The link is thus:
www.spike.com/event/scream/pag…

The awards are decided by online voting, so feel free to tell everyone you know, tell random strangers, vote on multiple computers at the local library, etc. Voting is open till about mid-October (the awards show airs Oct. 21).  We are up against the likes of X-Men, so our chances of winning are quite low, but we might as well put up a good fight, dang it :)

Thanks tons!!

mea culpa

Please forgive my lack of attention to everyone else's art and my slow/nonexistent replies to comments as of late D:

I WILL respond soon, I promise!

Hack/Slash the monthly series continues on!  Most of issues #12 (in stores now) and #13 were drawn by series creator and writer Tim Seeley :iconcoltnoble:, with just a few pages contributed by me and colored by the fabulously talented Courtney Via :iconhellcorpceo:, who is now moving on to pursue other great work.

Issue #14 features a twisted take on the Wizard of Oz, and I'm currently drawing #15 -- the beginning of the RE-ANIMATOR crossover story arc.

Just a little update... Thanks so much for all your support, Hack/Slash fans!  Here's a summary of Hack/Slash the monthly series to date:  Issues 1-5 (drawn by me and colored by Courtney Via:
:iconhellcorpceo:)
are finished and will be collected into a trade paperback soon.

I will not be drawing issues 6-9.  Issue 6 is a standalone Archie-style issue with an awesome Archie parody cover.  Issues 7-9 will be drawn by talented fellow SCAD alum Rebekah Isaacs:
:iconrebekahann:

I am currently working on issue 10 pencils.

Also, please check out this amazingly bloody issue 8 cover by G.I. Joe artist Mike Bear:
